Bringing a fractured world together through collective campaigning
Crisis Action is an award-winning NGO that forges highly effective, targeted coalitions among organisations and individuals to engage governments to avert conflict, prevent human rights abuses, and ensure governments fulfill their obligations to protect civilians.
The organization’s strength is to work behind the scenes. As a coordinating body Crisis Action seeks no public profile or media spotlight. It operates in a flexible manner with partners choosing to engage in temporary ‘opt-in’ alliances on specific crises.
Crisis Action works along four work streams:
- Punish dictatorship
- Bring war criminals to justice
- Expose war profiteers
- Give civilians in need access to aid
Crisis Action becomes active wherever there is an opportunity to maximise impact through collective action. This includes countries and regions such as Myanmar, the Middle East, Yemen, the Sahel region or, behind the scenes, the Ukraine.
The actions range from high-level advocacy, targeted media work, joint work with civil society affected by conflict, collaboration with high-profile individuals, and coordinating mass mobilisation.
