Terms of Use

1. Preamble

These General Terms of Use dated January 19, 2019 describe terms and conditions applying to access services offered on the GOOD Website (www.good-search.org) and the respective GOOD App.

The app, the website as well the tools such as plug-ins or extensions used by the app or on the website are the exclusive property of Good Search UG, a Certified B Corporation registered in Berlin, Germany, hereafter also referred to as GOOD.

By using the search engine you implicitly agree to the Terms of Use and to our privacy policy.

2. Use of the Search Engine

The search engine is operated by GOOD. It provides a cost-free service. It is funded, among others, through sponsored ads and affiliate marketing revenues. The user does not acquire any rights on funds, which are activated by him or her by clicking on a sponsored ad or on any affiliate marketing link. Moreover, the user consents that GOOD may generate a provision when addressing a website of an affiliate marketing partner. 

The organic search results as well as the sponsored ads displayed on the search results page are provided by our technology partner Bing, governed through an agreement with its syndication partner RISE (Rise Code Ltd., Menachem Begin Road 121, Tel Aviv 6701203, Israel). GOOD has no influence on neither the organic search results nor the ads provided through Bing’s advertising network except the option to block any inappropriate ads.

GOOD tries to provide the online community with a 24-hour and 7days available search engine. Even though GOOD took every necessary step to ensure the reliability of the information, the software and services embedded in the website, it is not to be held responsible for eventual errors, omissions, viruses, results obtained, or be obtained in consequence of the misuse of those. GOOD is not to be held responsible for problems or technical incidents that may occur and entail a risk of data loss or which relate to services provided by its technology partners.

3. External links

This website contains links to third-party websites (“external links”). These links are being provided as a convenience and for informational purposes only; they do not necessarily constitute an endorsement or an approval by GOOD of any of the products, services or opinions of the corporation or organization or individual. These websites are subject to the liability of the respective operators. GOOD bears no responsibility for the accuracy, legality or content of the external site or for that of subsequent links.

The provisions related to external links apply likewise to websites which are addressed through the search engine’s autocompletion feature as well as to all websites which are addressed from the search results pages, irrespective if the external links derive from organic search result hits or sponsored ads. The provisions also apply to any websites and applications addressed through GOOD’s Google navigation bar (see section below).

4. Links to Google services

The header of the search results page features a bar that allows navigating directly to search results generated by Google without having to type in the search request another time. By making use of these external links the user enters third-party websites or applications. GOOD earns no provision by forwarding search requests to Google; this feature is offered merely for convenience and for informational purposes. As of today, the following links to Google websites and applications have been implemented:

• Google Maps
• Google Bilder
• Google Videos
• Google Nachrichten

Please note that our privacy statement does not cover any Google services which are accessed through the respective external links.

5. Provision of third-party content

The free and freely accessible contributions, including journalistic content, blogs or project descriptions, on the GOOD website or app were created with the greatest possible care. However, GOOD does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness or legality of the provided content nor does its provision necessarily imply an endorsement or approval by GOOD. The same applies for the content that GOOD integrates from third parties into a news or blog feed, e.g. from www.goodnews.eu. Contributions marked by name reflect the opinion of the respective author and not always the opinion of GOOD. No contractual relationship is established between the user and GOOD solely by calling up the free and freely accessible content featured on the website.

6. Privacy Policy

GOOD is governed by German law is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union. All issues related to privacy and data security are laid out in our privacy policy statement.

7. Other

These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement with respect to your access to and use of the GOOD Website and the GOOD App. We may modify these Terms of Use at any time by posting revised Terms of Use on our website and your continuing use of such website and the services constitutes your agreement to be bound by such modified Terms of Use.

Any provision of these Terms of Use that is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable in any jurisdiction shall be severable from these Terms of Use in that jurisdiction without in any way invalidating the remaining provisions of these Terms of Use. The unenforceability of any provision in a given jurisdiction shall not make that provision unenforceable in any other jurisdiction.
